Shoot Jobs

Shoot Jobs is a visual document and celebration of the hard work and dedication that it takes to be a UK-based independent professional wrestler. My aim with this project is to shine a light on the weekend warriors. The ones not signed to big contracts. The ones taking double bookings and then getting to work on Monday banged up but ready for next weekend. The hardcore wrestlers hoping their stitches don’t come apart in a meeting. The sales assistants limping around the shop floor after bumping off a ladder last Sunday. The brief for this project; to photograph independent pro-wrestlers in their wrestling gear whilst in their ‘shoot job’ environment. To take you on a journey behind the scenes, showcasing the grit and determination required to make it in this tough industry. From bartenders to construction workers, these wrestlers balance their passion for the sport with the demands of the real world. With stunning visuals and intimate portraits, this project looks to capture the juxtaposition of commonplace working environments and the dedication of the hidden personalities which inhabit them.
